Title: Fabrication of Polymeric Membranes

Abstract:

Polymeric membranes are engineered structures with tailored pore sizes, shapes, and distribution. This presentation delves into the various methods employed to fabricate these membranes, highlighting techniques such as phase inversion, electrospinning, extrusion, pore forming agent, and track-etching. The selection of polymer materials, their properties, and the impact on membrane performance are also discussed. The presentation explores the significance of controlling pore size and morphology in achieving desired separation and filtration outcomes. It touches upon the importance of membrane surface modifications for enhanced functionality and selectivity. Moreover, the relevance of polymeric porous membranes in industries like water treatment, pharmaceuticals, and biotechnology, emphasizing their role in addressing global challenges, will be discussed briefly.
